God likes to show off! Supernatural Evidence from Above.

God likes to show off. Now that might offend some people, but oh well. "Why does God like to show off?" you might ask. I believe the answer is because God wants to be enjoyed.

The Father is doing pretty well for Himself, ya know? He's never depressed, He owns everything you've ever seen or touched and the bible says that He is life. Like.. the very essence of it. Life practically erupts from His very being. And He wants to share His life with His creation because He's a good God.

The Manifest Glory of God

God desires to be glorified throughout the earth. And not just for His sake or because He deserves all glory (even though that's true), but I believe it's for the sake of His creation as well. His glory is for our enjoyment.

God's glory is His manifest nature. defines the Father's glory like this:

"The glory of God is the invisible qualities, character, or attributes of God displayed in a visible (or knowable) way."

God's glory is an invitation in and of itself to partake of His goodness. Psalm 34:8 says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good..." Basically, God wants us to be overwhelmed by His goodness and He leaves the evidence everywhere to be seen. Oh, and speaking

of evidence...

Jesus & the Father's will.

When Jesus' time came, He put the Kingdom of God (and the Father's will) on full display. Jesus had no intention of hiding anything from anyone. He was here to heal; to give life. He, being the express image of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), healed practically everyone He came into contact with that needed healing.

Cold Hard Evidence

There was one moment that struck me when I was reading the Gospel of John. Jesus is speaking when He says,

"...why do you call it blasphemy when I say, ‘I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world. 37 Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work. 38 But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father." - John 10:36-38 NLT

And that's what I really want to highlight here. After reading Jesus get seemingly fed up with the stony hearts of the religious leaders for most of John, I almost hear Him begging and pleading with them here to believe Him. And if they wouldn't believe His words, how could they deny His works?

Ah yes, His works.

This is what the bible says about the works that Jesus did in the midst of the people. "Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written." - John 21:25 NLT

The point that I'm trying to get to here is that with so many of Jesus' teachings being in parables and with so much of the Father's nature seeming so big a mystery to us at times, it can be easy to forget that God isn't afraid of cold hard proof.

"Saul stayed with the believers in Damascus for a few days. 20 And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is indeed the Son of God!”
22 Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews in Damascus couldn’t refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah." Acts 9:19-22

God isn't afraid of proof. This is the heart behind "The Dinner Bell" book. I want to so overwhelm unbelievers and believers alike with proof that God heals today. And I believe His healing power is an invitation to partake of His goodness & to believe in Him whom He has sent.
